Located
next to the Kerrville, Texas home of Anne and Harry Schneider, the studio
hosts weekly Tai Chi classes led by Anne. Her Reiki clients also benefit
from the peaceful setting of Ventana al Cielo, as do the participants
of Anne's many workshops.
Located in Kerrville's historic Methodist Encampment area at Mt. Wesley,
the studio and attached guest quarters can be found near the top of
an asphalt lane lined with shade trees. This provides visiting artists
an excellent venue for their workshops, as well as serene and comfortable
lodging for their stay.
Ventana al Cielo provides a mirrored wall and a nine foot counter to
facilitate a variety of workshops in the 16' x 17' studio. Large bi-fold
doors may be opened into the guest quarters to create an additional
attached space of 7' x 10.' Folding tables and chairs also are available
for workshop use.
The studio's surrounding grounds provide a restful setting that includes
a waterfall at the small pond, rock-terraced yards with lush gardens,
an outdoor hot tub, and a large stucco-walled patio with built-in bench
seating along one wall. The patio is an intimate spot for presentations
or readings and can seat about 30 people.
Attached guest quarters to the studio offer a private entrance to a
spacious room with a queen-size wall bed and a double-size futon. Amenities
include a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a CD player. A private
deck off the guest quarters affords a viewing opportunity of the Texas
hill country's native deer and bird populations.
For Ventana al Cielo's guest artists, Anne acts as promoter - first
interviewing prospective artists by email or phone to determine if they
are a "match" for the targeted market in Kerrville. She then
gathers workshop and bio information from the selected artists and creates
flyers and registration forms for email to approximately 75 potential
participants. Anne also posts flyers in the Kerrville area - a region
boasting Schreiner University, the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center, the
Hill Country Arts Foundation, numerous art galleries, and a thriving
community of artists, writers, and musicians. Distribution of available
press releases may also be included in advertising services for guest
artists. Additionally, Anne collects and tracks all registrations and
fees for the studio's workshops.
Hosts Anne and Harry can offer guest artists private transportation
from the San Antonio airport - about a 60-mile trip from the studio.
They also provide delicious, healthy meals during the artists' stay
for their workshops. Please
contact Anne for Ventana al Cielo Studio hosting fees.
Fees are based on a percentage of the artist's income generated at the
studio, and on the services provided by its host. Anne also can be contacted
for the studio's schedule of upcoming events.
